Edith and Me

Edith and Me is an innovative and virtuosic one-woman show carried forward with song and puppetry, created by Yael Rasooly in collaboration with Figurteatret.

A singer has mysteriously become mute and can no longer perform. A hidden secret burns inside her. But she is not alone - a determined Edith Piaf is there to pull her out of bed, pull her up and back to life.
Together, the unlikely duo conjure up a partnership of solidarity and tenderness, embarking on a journey full of greatness and vulnerability, sorrow and triumph, competition and compassion.

Edith and Me explores the aftermath of violence perpetrated by those in power. Should she remain silent or speak out?
With warmth and humor, the struggle to regain one's life and voice through art is told, with inspiration and power from a legendary singer.
